How to install IPVanish OpenVPN on Linux Mint 18?
Download config.zip from here. You can also just google ipvanish config.zip in case IPVanish for some reason change the web address of the files.
After you do that, go to the location of your downloaded file. Right click on the config.zip and click on Extract here. You will also need the certificates from IPVanish. You can download ca.ipvanish.com.crt from here.
The next step to install IPVanish OpenVPN is to go to Network Connections. To go there you have a couple of options. I will take you through two different ways. Either you can click on the network symbol on the bottom right corner of your desktop. You'll find it next to the figure symbol (to the right of it). Or you can click on the Menu and type Network connections in the search field. Then simply click on Network Connections.
Make Sure To Click On "Network Connections" As Shown In The Image.First Click On Menu (Bottom Left). Then Type "Network Connections" In The Search Bar.
You will see a dialog with some buttons to the right. Click the Add button.

Then, on the dialog that appears, click the downward arrow to open the drop-down menu.

A file manager window will open. Double click on the previously extracted folder named configs (the former config.zip file). Then double click on the desired .ovpn file – note that you have plenty to choose from. While it can be confusing knowing which one to choose, why not make it simple and choose one in or near your country. Chances are that it will probably increase your Internet speed.
